Sweden is participating in developing an European web atlas.

The Swedish contribution to the EUGEO web-atlas project is based on a selection of maps from the web-version of the Swedish National Atlas (SNA), published in 17 volumes 1990-1996 and later revisions. The selection of some 60 maps is made to fit into the model presented for Belgium and organized under the same set of chapter headlines.

Reservation: 
The lack of map scale in the web atlas maps is a serious bias for geographical comparisons. Sweden, for instance, extends over 1 600 km north-south, Belgium merely 270 km east-west! Thus Sweden has to be presented in much less detail. To compensate for this deficit in information the Swedish EUGEO map collection is linked to the full SNA web atlas for anyone to explore. Any attempt to combine the national maps to European maps must consider the scale problem.
